Vylor Joins S&P 500 After Corteva Spinoff; Twilio Next in Line
S&P Dow Jones Indices added Vylor Inc. to the S&P 500 following its spinoff from Corteva, with Twilio set to join the index soon.
S&P Dow Jones Indices added Vylor Inc. (NYSE: VYLR) to the S&P 500 on October 1, 2026, after the company was spun off from agricultural sciences firm Corteva Inc. (NYSE: CTVA) in a corporate transaction that took effect that same day. The move reflects standard index methodology, under which a newly independent company inherits eligibility when it is separated from an existing constituent.
Twilio is separately set to join the S&P 500, according to the announcement from S&P Dow Jones Indices. Additional companies were also designated for inclusion in the S&P MidCap 400 and S&P SmallCap 600, signaling a broader round of index rebalancing across the S&P family of benchmarks.

Index additions of this kind carry significant market implications. Passive funds and exchange-traded funds that track the S&P 500 are required to purchase shares of newly added constituents, often generating increased trading volume and upward price pressure around the effective date. Corteva's exit from the index as a standalone entity following the spinoff is the corollary to Vylor's entry.
S&P Dow Jones Indices periodically revises its benchmark rosters to reflect corporate actions such as mergers, spinoffs, and changes in market capitalization eligibility. The simultaneous reshuffling across the 500, MidCap 400, and SmallCap 600 indexes underscores the interconnected nature of these tiered benchmarks, where a company departing one index frequently creates a vacancy filled by a promotion from a lower tier.
